SR. MANAGER CMOS DIGITAL DESIGN

You will be an important member of the overall R&D organization, collaborating with other disciplines of analog ASIC design, FPGA, HW and FW engineers to come up with specs for the product and implement them from RTL to GDS.  This position involves close interaction with senior management and significant contributions to team growth and composition as we expand our team to meet rising demand for our products. 

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Lead and grow the ASIC digital engineering group responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new products and sustaining and enhancement of existing products.

  • Collaborate with system architects, algorithm developers, and analog designers to define solutions in early product development activities in support of next generation programs.

  • Continuously improve engineering best practices and advise team on appropriate documentation practices and use of tools.

  • Lead the execution for RTL architecture and design.

  • Responsible for verification planning, backend closure and final GDS delivery, working with other teams.

  • Support selection, contracting, and procurement of key IP, design services, and foundry partners.

Preferred Knowledge Requirements: 

  • Hands-on and recent experience with high speed mixed-signal digital design in FPGA & ASIC

  • Experience driving projects from inception, through architecture exploration, micro-architecture, design, tapeout and successful bring-up and qualification.

  • Experience with prototyping systems on FPGA platforms or emulators

  • Experience with using tools such as Cadence/Synopsis/Quartus for digital design and able to use virtuoso analog environment.

  • Experience with project management tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)

  • Experience with mixed-signal IP integration and development

  • Experience with both ASIC and FPGA

  • Experience in analyzing Static Timing Analysis (STA) reports, clock domain crossing, and Logical Equivalency Checks.  

  • Experience with embedded processors

Preferred Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • BSEE, MSEE or PhD with 10+ years of relevant experience in Digital ASIC design and integration

  • 3-5 years of experience as a project lead or managing other engineers.

  • Experience with mixed-mode simulations

  • Experience with signal processing a plus.

  • Experience with automotive development processes is a plus.

SR. MANAGER ASIC AI DESIGN

As part of our core IP design team, you’ll help design and manufacture our next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient, complex AI cores and ADAS chips. This is a highly visible role on our design team, responsible for Synthesis, low power flow and working with backend engineer to get functional products to market quickly. This role will also help to improve digital design for high speed and low power.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the effort on synthesis and optimize IP core for timing, area and power (PPA)

  • Work with backend team on floorplan and P&R

  • Work with SOC team on clock, reset, timing and power related tasks

  • Develop, maintain, and improve existing flows for Synthesis, Formal and STA.

  • Support multiple IPs

  • Work with SOC implementation engineers to integrate your solutions in SOC flows.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in relevant field

  • Basic understanding of digital design and VLSI concepts is required

  • Fluent with HDL languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog)

  • Experience in Synthesis tools Design Compiler is required

  • Experience in STA tools Prime Time is required

  • Experience in UPF low power flow is required

  • Experience with Formal equivalence tools such as Conformal LEC and/or Formality is required.

  • Experience scripting in TCL, Perl, or Python is required

  • Must have strong communication skills

  • Attention to detail and desire to learn.

  • Experience with large scale digital design at high frequency ( > 1GHz) preferred

  • Experience in Physical Synthesis preferred

Photonics PIC designers

Optelligence LLC is seeking for an integrated photonics design and development specialist with experience in the simulation, design, layout, packaging, and testing of active photonic integrated circuits (PICs). PIC platforms under development include silicon-based (e.g., silicon and silicon-nitride based), compound-semiconductor (e.g., InP, GaAs), and hybrids thereof. Example PICs include high-speed photonic information processing or digital optical interconnects. The candidates will assist staff in the development of advanced components, circuits, and subsystems, and to apply them to solve problems in the national interest. 


We are looking for result-driven and creative individuals, who are ‘hungry’ and ready to perform in an energetic and rapid-paced environment. 


Minimum Requirements:

ʉۢ MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics or related field with experience or extensive classwork in design, fabrication, and/or characterization of optoelectronic components and photonic integrated circuits.

• Must exhibit repeatedly demonstrated experience with the design and layout of electronic-photonic integrated circuits for fabrication in commercial and/or government foundries.

• Must exhibit a strong understanding of optical, electrical, and thermal properties of passive and active devices and materials.

• Experience with photonic simulation tools (e.g., mode solvers, FDTD, beam propagation) and electronic-photonic design and layout tools is required.

• Knowledge of electronic-photonic fabrication processes (e.g., lithography, deposition, etching) is desirable.

Test Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for high-speed silicon photonic integrated chip (PIC) characterization of Silicon Photonic devices. You will work closely with other photonic component design engineers for device design, and analysis.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: High speed test of a silicon photonic chip for high-speed optical communication.

OVERVIEW

The OP communications team focuses on the research and development of VCSELs as a vital class of semiconductor laser diodes accompanying a monolithic laser resonator that emits light in a direction perpendicular to the chip surface. This class of lasers is gaining market importance given their compact size and high optoelectronic performance. As miniaturized lasers, they are used as an optical source in highspeed, short-wavelength communications and optical data networks. Dense traffic and high-speed transmission are key requirements for smart sensor applications in automotive or in data communications, which are enabled by compact and high-speed VCSELs. ABOUT YOU:
